We are looking for a skilled Cassandra Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in backend Java programming, with a strong understanding of asynchronous programming concepts and experience developing microservices.
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend services using Java with an emphasis on asynchronous programming and microservices architecture.
Implement and maintain database solutions using Cassandra and other NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Develop and integrate microservices with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
Utilize Vert.x for creating compelling, event-driven applications and services, or demonstrate the ability to rapidly pick up and effectively use the framework.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and innovative applications.
Ensure code quality, organization, and automatization through comprehensive testing and documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, enhancing their knowledge and skills in asynchronous programming and Java backend development.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements, share progress, and address any concerns.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in Java, NoSQL databases, and related technologies to continuously improve our applications and architecture.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-8 years of professional experience in backend Java development.
Strong expertise in asynchronous programming and microservices design patterns.
Proficient in Java fundamentals, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Experience with Vert.x or the ability to quickly learn and effectively implement it in projects.
Strong experience with NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra, Couchbase, or MongoDB, and a good understanding of unstructured database concepts.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
It would be great if you also had:
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
Exposure to cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
