Job Description:

An internationally recognized, well established and highly sought out client of ours based in the legal sector is seeking to add Manager of Knowledge Practice Management to their forward thinking organization! If you are a dynamic and experienced Knowledge Management Practice Manager to lead their efforts in optimizing knowledge sharing and organizational learning.

Position Overview:

As the Knowledge Management Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to capture, organize, and disseminate knowledge across the organization and this person will serve as a Project Manager of sorts. The role will be developing project guidelines, rolling out projects, managing projects, developing best practices for managing lawyers, running group meetings, assisting on project pilots of new technologies, along with beta testing etc. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify knowledge gaps, streamline information workflows, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive knowledge management strategy aligned with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  2. Lead the design and implementation of knowledge management systems, including content management platforms, collaboration tools, and learning management systems.
  3. Establish policies, standards, and procedures for knowledge creation, capture, classification, and retrieval.
  4. Work closely with subject matter experts to identify critical knowledge assets and facilitate the creation of knowledge repositories, databases, and wikis.
  5. Drive adoption of knowledge management processes and tools through training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives, utilizing metrics and feedback to continuously improve practices.
  7. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of knowledge management specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  8. Collaborate with IT, HR, and other stakeholders to integrate knowledge management practices into business processes and systems.
  9. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in knowledge management and recommend opportunities for innovation and enhancement.
  10. Champion knowledge sharing and collaboration across departments and geographies, promoting a culture of teamwork and knowledge exchange.


Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • A minimum of four years of relevant project management and/or practice management experience, preferably in a law firm or legal department
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and priorities into tangible action items and execute effectively
  • Experience managing project teams from inception through planning, execution and completion
  • Proven ability to take initiative, create a positive team environment, work as a team leader and member, and build collaborative relationships
  • Law firm/Large Corporate Environment experience is preferred.
  • IT Project experience - legal tech (ideally)
  • Technological literacy
  • Project Management Skills are a MUST HAVE.
  • Able to operate under pressure, hyper organized
