Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Sr. Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis will support the organization by partnering with various teams and coordinating the financial planning and budgeting process. This will include providing financial analysis, accurate forecasts to ensure the company's profit objectives are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the financial forecasting of various P&L and budgeting processes including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow modeling.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial performance results; complete budget to actual analysis and research root cause variations to plan.
  • Perform sales channel, segment analysis, territory performance, trend analysis and inventory analysis.
  • Identify and present key business insights through data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve reporting process.
  • Communicate discoveries to support better business decisions and improve organizations value.
  • Collaborate with applicable business segments to drive process improvements for timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Compile inventory analysis at the retail stores, domestic wholesale, ecommerce, and warehouse level. Identify aged inventory for reserve analysis and compile cost of goods comparison for standard costing purposes.
  • Partner with department managers to understand business information needs, report development and planning/forecasting requirements.
  • Create presentations and other communication materials for executive management and Board of Directors meetings, earnings releases, investor conferences, industry events, and meetings with analysts and institutional investors.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - both verbal and written

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Skills/Education/Experience:
  • Requires extensive experience in using Spreadsheet servers.
  • Requires extensive knowledge using BI software such as PowerBI
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required, MBA desired.
  • Preferred degree in finance or accounting with 5+ years' experience.
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, balance multiple tasks and shift gears on short notice, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
  • Self-motivated to identify, research, and address opportunities and risks both internal and external to the organization.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and the impact of accounting processes on Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows.
  • Experience in data analytic report design/architecture that focuses on key data that can be transformed into meaningful information to assist decision making.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and document flows.
  • Retail financial experience preferred; some retail operational or merchandise experience an asset.
  • Presentation skills to effectively articulate business performance.
  • Advanced excel capabilities required.
  • Understanding of statistics and use in forecasting.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous priorities.
