We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of financial management, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the firm. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports.
Support the billing process by reviewing client invoices for accuracy, tracking billable hours, and ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines.
Collaborate with attorneys and administrative staff to address financial inquiries and provide support.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements, and resolve any discrepancies or issues as they arise.
Process vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and client payments accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis to support decision-making and financial planning activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a professional services environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (specifically Microsoft Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and SoftPro)
Knowledge of legal industry billing practices and software (e.g., Legal Billing Software) is a plus.
