Process the day-to-day financial transactions of the business including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee expenses, reconcile accounts, prepare reports and tax forms, etc.
Communicate, explain, and administer employment benefits; implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities: • Reconcile bills to purchase orders and receiving records, resolve discrepancies, if any • Process and record all bills, ensure they are paid timely and accurately, and take discounts when allowed • Review and process expense reports; import and process employee credit card transactions • Review sales orders; monitor fulfillment progress; issue invoices to customers • Monitor receivables, and follow up with customers on past due accounts • Monitor, review and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation • Comply with agency, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including sales and use tax returns, property tax reports, business registration renewals, annual reports, etc. • Research and document tax and labor laws as needed • Process payroll; administer employee benefits • Update, communicate, explain, and enforce company policies and procedures • Maintain fixed assets and rental equipment records • Maintain insurance policies and schedules, including inland marine insurance and auto insurance; distribute and collect insurance certificates to and from customers and suppliers as needed • Perform other financial and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred • Minimum of five years accounting and multi-state sales tax experience • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, Access, and Google Apps • Working knowledge of federal and state taxation and labor laws, rules and regulations • Ability to prioritize and multitask • Strong organizational skills • Deadline and detail-oriented • Self-motivated, proactive in problem solving and process improvements
