TMG’s Communications Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and effective communications that are consistent with TMG’s brand. Primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, planning, coordinating, and developing content for TMG’s internal and external communications through a variety of communication channels, including newsletters, email, social media, presentations, and news releases, and through the TMG website and SharePoint intranet site. The Communications Specialist will interface and collaborate with the Magellan communications team, and TMG’s Community Partnerships team and external branding consultants to coordinate communications and materials for development, review, approval, and distribution. The Communications Specialist will proactively identify opportunities to enhance TMG’s brand identity, including industry communications, presentations, and events.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for internal and external communications. The following is a representative, but not all-inclusive, list of the position’s duties and responsibilities.
o Oversee content, editing and publication of features and articles for the internal staff intranet newsletter, Pathways.
o Solicit and compile staff feedback and make recommendations to optimize effectiveness of internal communications.
o Assist in the development and distribution of presentation materials for staff meetings and other internal events.
o Assist other departments with communications needs, as appropriate and requested.
o Assist in the development, printing and distribution of content for the quarterly newsletter, The Path Ahead.
o Maintain the TMG website, publishing events and event recaps, based on an identified schedule for future updates.
o Assist in the development and distribution of externally-facing news releases, informational pieces, FAQs, event/sponsorship announcements, position postings for job recruitment, etc.
o Assist in the development of presentation materials for conferences, trade shows and speaking engagements.
o Collaborate with the Community Partnerships team to maintain an inventory and develop any special communications and/or materials necessary for conferences, appearances, and events.
o Assist in the development of content for TMG social media channels; monitor content and develop engagement strategies for social media.
o Represent TMG at statewide and/or regional events.
o Develop and maintain tracking tools that provide for coordination of communication activities across the organization, measure the effectiveness of activities, and support strategic planning and development of strategic initiatives.
