Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, the Investigational Drug Room Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the receipt, storage, distribution, inventory, and maintenance of investigational drugs. Job duties also include sterile compounding of allergen immunotherapy extracts, and shipping allergen extracts to off-site locations. The Investigational Drug Room Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in all aspects of the daily departmental activities, including training of new staff and pharmacy students, record keeping and other clerical functions, monthly audits, and other duties as assigned by the pharmacist. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and good organizational skills are required.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements) Education and/or years experience required: Clerical, computer, and mathematical skills 1 year previous experience as a pharmacy technician Must meet one of these three education/experience categories as defined by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician with maintenance of continuous registration as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy dating back prior to January 1st 2013 OR OR Completion of a board-approved technician training program. OR Willingness to complete the Essentia Health employer-based technician training program within first 90 days of employment. Licensure/Certifications required: Registered as a pharmacy technician in the state of Minnesota. Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board ,or must obtain certification within 1 year of hire. Must maintain certification in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Research, per Essentia Health policy and FDA requirements. Must maintain registration and certification for the duration of employment.
