Position Summary

Oversee Product Management for the company’s Governance, Risk and Compliance solution line, which includes a software solution (via strategic alliance) and Compliance Communications (including direct mail, email and surveys).  Oversight includes, but is not limited to, all phases of the product definition, launch, enhancement and ongoing alliance relationship management.  Close collaboration with alliance partner product management team, and Harland Clarke Marketing Services product management team.  The individual must have a holistic and detailed understanding of the US financial industry including the government regulations, government compliance requirements, standards, frameworks, PCI requirements, shared assessments, financial institution policies and controls which drive risk management strategies and audit requirements; with an ability to translate that understanding into Harland Clarke’s product strategy resulting in optimized revenue and EBITDA growth.



Key Duties / Responsibilities - Essential duties are identified by asterisks.

Lead the Harland Clarke effort to develop US financial industry specific content, suggested workflow stages and reports to be incorporated into the Governance, Risk and Compliance software solution being delivered by Harland Clarke via strategic alliance to financial institutions.  Will be required to work extremely closely with the strategic alliance partner product management and development teams. Will collaborate closely with Harland Clarke Senior Leadership, and Strategic Alliance Senior Leadership to guide the evolution of the software alliance relationship, influence development roadmaps and develop revenue optimization strategies.

In-depth understanding of the facets that constitute a financial institution’s Governance, Risk and Compliance needs including Audit Management, Business Continuity Management, Compliance Management, Incident Management, Risk Management, Security Management and 3rd Party / Vendor Management.  Ability to synthesize government regulations and requirements with the necessary controls and policies developed by the financial institutions, and communication client needs to our Strategic Alliance partner.

Lead the Harland Clarke effort to develop US financial industry specific compliance communications solutions including required mass client communications (such as those mandated by the regulators following an FI client facing compliance issue), event based FI customer communications (such as those triggered by the opening of a new account), and VOC surveys (such as those designed to gauge FI customer satisfaction with the level/pressure of sales and cross-selling activities).  Work closely with the Solution & Segment Marketing team to develop financial industry specific GRC Solution (both software and compliance communications) marketing content, including collateral, battle cards, presentations, web content, white papers, etc..

Identification and cultivation of client testimonial and case study documentation and promotional opportunities.  Coordinate client feedback gathering efforts to inform future product/service enhancements for both our software solution and our compliance communication solution.

Provide Governance, Risk and Compliance subject matter expertise to support sales and marketing endeavors including on-site/virtual sales support, client/prospect event support, article development, media interviews, and speaking engagements.

Work closely with the Learning & Development team to develop training content for the Harland Clarke sales organization.

Lead all solution enhancement, launch and sunset activities coordinating with key groups within Harland Clarke, including-

Account Management, Client Management and Call Centers

Client strategy and pricing

Information Technology


Manufacturing, Operations and Procurement


Project Management

Sales, Sales Operations and Sales Learning & Development


Demonstrate in-depth understanding of product financial characteristics including acquisition and retention metrics, revenue, operating expense, and capital expenditures.  Use this knowledge to inform all product management decisions.

Monitor and disseminate information on regulatory/compliance trends market trends.

Monitor and disseminate information on key competitors as a result of analysis of media coverage, competitive shopping, product & feature assessment, pricing, strategy.

Ongoing oversight of strategic alliance reseller partner product/service relationship including product assessment, sales results, joint marketing objectives, renewal, and termination.

Education & Knowledge Required

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business or equivalent experience. MBA a plus.

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credentials are a plus.

Excellent management skills with the ability to effectively direct the product management function.

Thorough knowledge of financial industry Governance, Risk and Compliance principles, processes and best practices. 

Ability to manage expense and revenue components of budget.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Superior copy writing and editing skills.

Understanding of financial services concepts and terminology.

Thorough knowledge of financial industry Governance, Risk and Compliance principles and best practices.

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credentials are a plus.



Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Minimum of 7 years Governance, Risk and Compliance experience in the United States financial services (banks, credit unions, savings institutions) and financial technology industries.



Ability to express or exchange information by means of oral and written communication.

Position involves mostly sedentary work, exerting a negligible amount of effort to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time.

Manual dexterity to input data into the computer.



Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of weight (laptop, projector, suitcase, etc.).

Up to 20% - 40% depending upon office location.  Atlanta preferred. 



Work may be performed in a combination of remote and general office environment.
