Position Description:
This position is responsible for providing prenatal, antenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn patient care in a safe and effective manner. Additional responsibilities include: directing Patient Care Technician and Unit Secretary activities, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/intervention, education of patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/physician orders, documentation and evaluation. The integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities. Other responsibilities include: participation in ongoing performance improvement activities and patient safety initiatives.

One year of acute care experience in Labor and Delivery preferred. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background.

  • Current CA RN license

  • BSN preferred

  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider

  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support

  • Current Fetal Monitoring education per AWOHNN standards for labor nurses.
