Job SummaryThe SBU Global Quality Leader will be responsible for improving all elements related to customer quality. This includes reducing customer complaints related to the following key areas: (1) order management errors including pricing errors, (2) application defects, (3) design defects, (4) supplier defects, (5) Picking/packing errors (Shipping/Delivery errors), (6) production defects, (7) transportation/ handling errors, (8) Installation defects, and (9) Sales Goodwill related to Quality. Main focus is to organize, plan, implement, and control a quality assurance program across the Business Unit which will deliver best in class overall customer satisfaction and reduce overall Cost of Quality. Functional responsibility for site Quality Leaders across the Global Business Unit.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, implement and drive quality improvement initiatives of products and services through strategy deployment within the Global Business Unit (BU).
Manage all aspects of BU Quality across multiple, ISO certified, local and international facilities. Work with BU Management to integrate Quality objectives into BU objectives.
Provide professional customer interface and focus to key customers. Act as prime liaison with the BU customers to better understand their expectations when it comes to product and service quality. Participate in customer contract reviews to ensure all customer requirements are understood and relayed into the organization before customer orders are accepted in to the organization.
Establish and implement customer and product specific Quality, Inspection, Test and Project Plans.
Monitor Global Business Unit Cost of Quality (COQ), customer complaints, and other Quality indicators and drive projects to eliminate recurring quality issues as well as address special events in order to drive an overall improvement.
Lead and train others to develop effective corrective and preventive actions using Root Cause Problem Solving and Mistake Proofing concepts in response to customer concerns, COQ data or regular product audit results.
Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate and engage support for driving COQ improvement across various functions and levels within the Business Unit.
Establish and support "Advanced Product Quality Planning" strategies and objectives for supplier product qualifications, new product introductions and engineering changes.
Implement effective process and product control strategies such as Process Maps, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, First Pass Yield (FPY), Statistical Process Control, Production Part Approval Process, Layered Process Audits and Finished Goods audits where necessary.
