Job Summary

Responsible for development of the organization's global strategic plan(s) to ensure the continued successful growth and profitability of the organization. Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies. Review and provide feedback on proposals (acquisitions, licensing opportunities, etc.) to determine alignment with the company's strategic vision and financial targets.  Packaging industry experience preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Own M&A strategy 

- Oversee deal structuring

- Perform due diligence tasks

- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and drive.

- Plans, facilitates and/or conducts multifaceted, extended negotiations for the sale of complex, high value, multi-year contracts for solutions and/or services

- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and drive.

- Evaluate new business development opportunities, partnering with finance and other business units.

- Analyze business issues and deliver new insights that help drive business development and long range planning.

- Understand the business and key issues at a detailed level; proactively research issues; anticipate opportunities and provide answers/ insights to key questions before they are asked from the executive team; develop hypotheses and prove/disprove with supporting analysis based on discussion with them.

- Develop presentations on the respective key initiatives for senior management and the Board of Directors.

- Evaluate strategic plans for non-performing Bus.

- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects at Senior Management's request.

- Work with Senior Management and Finance to develop financial and non-financial metrics that link segment performance against strategic direction and initiatives.

- Work with segments to identify root cause of non-performance, to suggest remedial action and to execute turnaround efforts.

- Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.

- Conducts special studies for top management in areas such as the organization's operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, operating cost containment, etc.

- Perform short-term and long-term portfolio analysis of business units.

- Incorporate segment specific knowledge into corporate plan and identify gaps between corporate plans and segment potential.

- Team with peers across segments to ensure strategy alignment and to highlight cross segment opportunities.

- Provide guidance and expectations for segment strategic planning process.

- Serve as a catalyst to identify and develop new business opportunities in adjacent markets.

- Work with segments to determine industry growth rates and growth potential for the segment.

- Develop tools and training to support the planning process.

- Develop benchmarking metrics to measure business performance against a relevant set of competitors and frame-up potential implications to inform strategic direction and decision-making.
Education & Experience Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.

- Degree in Business Management preferred.

- Plus 10 years work-related experience required, preferably in Financial or Operations fields.

- Significant previous Business Unit (or equivalent job) work experience preferred.

- Minimum of 8 years management experience required.

- Packaging industry experience preferred.

- Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
