D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an

Accounting Support person for their Accounting Department. The right candidate will be responsible for helping with account analysis and account bookings.


 


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


 
































Receives and reviews invoices, check requests, expense reports and/or other related documentation for

completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
 

Codes, verifies, and electronically enters accounts payable data into accounting system.
 

Coordinates the gathering of W-9 and vendor setup forms for new vendors.
 

 

 

Fields vendor calls in a professional, friendly, helpful manner.  Follows up on account statements

and other discrepancies regarding payment of accounts, and serves as liaison between departments

and vendors in the resolution of administrative problems and inquiries.
 

 

 

Records general ledger entries as required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scans, indexes, and provides appropriate copies to accounting staff for invoices processed.

Additional knowledge, skills and/or abilities
















































Knowledge of standard accounts payable policies, procedures and regulations.

Strong PC skills, including Excel and MS office is required.

 

Ability to utilize an automated accounting system.

 

 

 

Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices and other requests for payment.

Basic data entry and/or word processing skills.

 

 

 

Experience with JDEdwards is a plus.

 

 

 

 

 

Knowledge of general accounting principles.

 

 

 

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

 

 

 

Ability to analyze and solve problems.

 

 

 

 


 


 


Education and/or Experience


High School diploma or GED
 
At least two years experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
