What is the Internal Communications group responsible for?
The Internal Communications Team?s key role is to provide relevant, timely and engaging communication pieces for all employees of Franklin Templeton Investments around the world. This includes priorities and initiatives of the organization, internal news and events, and finally, market and industry-related news.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Internal Communications Consultant?
The Internal Communications Consultant will ensure internal communications are effective and consistent and help support the organization?s business goals and objectives. Using all tools available (print, web, events, etc.),  the Internal Communications Consultant will work to engage employees with the organization?s vision and mission, enhance employee communication and support senior management and corporate communications.

  • Facilitate, create, and/or provide input/recommendations on the communication of day-to-day internal company news, events and information. The consultant will take ownership of editorial content hosted on Franklin Templeton?s Intranet, the key source of internal communications with employees. Duties include coordinating content with the communications team, posting company and industry-related news and lastly, planning, researching, writing and formatting Intranet content on and about the company, its events and strategic initiatives.

  • Development of internal communication strategy for corporate initiatives and specific client needs.

  • On-going implementation of communication tactics to support corporate initiatives and specific client needs, including evaluation of results.

  • Proactively identify and address the internal communication needs of the organization and ensure consistency and continuity. Provide recommendations and guidance on appropriate communication tools to develop and deliver information and gather feedback.

  • Partner with management team, Corporate Communications, Community Relations, HR and other departments/ teams as required to proactively share/plan strategy and information, deliver overall corporate messages, and communicate global initiatives.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor?s degree or equivalent. Emphasis in communications, internal communications, corporate or public affairs, marketing communications, journalism or English preferred.

  • 2+ years experience in internal communications, corporate communications, corporate or public affairs, marketing communications, or related field.

  • Experience in events management is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of the English language.

  • Copy editing skills are an asset.

What technology skill sets are critical to success in this role?

  • Core knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Yammer

  • Working knowledge of Google Docs, Adobe and external social media tools
