Job Description:

  Job Summary   

This position is responsible for designing, developing and/or creating and maintaining internally developed and vendor-developed applications for business and operational functions utilized by Colonial Pipeline Company.

Conducts daily work in compliance with Colonial’s safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates Colonial’s core values of Safety, Personal Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Teamwork in completing work assignments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The responsibilities included represent typical responsibilities for this job and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed.  Management reserves the discretion to assign additional duties and/or to change job requirements.

· Responsible for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of software applications including development, testing, debugging, implementation and maintenance, as well as the related database objects and procedures.

· Understands business functions and operations technologies, and can oversee development of requirements for business applications and translate into technical specifications.

· Responsible for system documentation, support materials and developing training materials.

· Can function as technical lead for assigned projects.

· May be assigned as project manager for software development projects.

· Typically has some responsibility for directing and reviewing project work completed by junior level programmers/analysts to coach and mentor as necessary.

· May oversee development work of contract resources.

· Competent to work at the highest level of all technical phases of programming.

· Recognized as the knowledge expert for one or more systems.

· Provides technical support and leads effective resolution for business partner inquiries and production issues.

· Communication skills necessary to be the lead with business partner(s).

· Ability to work with historians’ data and analytics.

· Understands both operational and information technologies.

· Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) from an accredited college or university



 



Experience



7 years professional experience in software development and operations technologies

 

In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience, 9 years professional level experience will be considered



Experience with Historians and ICS

 



Certification & Licensure
