Job Summary

-Manages, controls and directs the Trade Compliance of multiple US operations


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

-Ensure full compliance to all laws and regulations which apply to US import and export transactions by developing, implementing, and maintaining import and export compliance processes and procedures.

-The position is highly involved in import and export operations, ability to work some weekends/holidays is necessary to support operations and hand-carried imports to support critical line down situations.

-Work with US and MX customs brokers, site operations, business units, and other functional units to address all import and export activities are effectively managed to meet all US government import and export rules and regulations.

-Proactively identify areas of compliance risk, and present risk assessment and improvement plan.

-Manage team off-site direct reports in Administration and maintain general recordkeeping requirements in compliance with Jabil corporate and Customs for imports and export regulations.

-Develop resolutions to a variety of complex problems involving issues such as HS classification, assists, country of origin and marking, and valuation.

-Monitors proposed changes in import and export rules, policies, procedures, regulations and laws and assess the impact of these proposed changes on the company’s Customs business in the country.  

-Implement and monitor customs broker rates, contracts and performance metrics

-Respond timely and accurately to all inquiries from US customs, including CBP Form 28.

-Provide support in on-going compliance audits.

-Develop, maintain, and deliver training to sites related to US import and export regulations.

-Work with sites, customs brokers, and external bill payment company to ensure brokerage bills are paid timely

-Administer Export Control process and manage US export system administration to sites for compliance

Management and Supervision:

-Experience managing other employees that are remote

-Position reports to Region Director of Logistics

Education & Experience Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or International Management preferred.

-Minimum of Five years experience in Trade Compliance

-Plus 4 years work-related experience required in Business, Supply Chain, or Compliance

-Candidates must be a Licensed US Customs Broker 

- Experience in U.S. trade compliance and government security administration

- Experience in export and import compliance positions

- Or a combination of education, experience and/or training
