Associate Chief Diversity Officer for Undergraduate Affairs - 18001082
Description

Tufts University seeks to fill the position of Associate Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) for Undergraduate Affairs. This position will report to the Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Provost, and serves as liaison to the schools, departments and other support structures engaged in promoting inclusiveness and diversity for undergraduate students. The Associate CDO for Undergraduate Affairs will be responsible for providing strategic direction and insight regarding support services for students from traditionally underrepresented groups as they relate to gender, race, ethnicity, condition of ability, sexual orientation and gender identity, and socio-economic status.


The Associate CDO of Undergraduate Affairs will also:
• Serve as a centralized resource to assist program directors and coordinators in creating collaborative and complementary solutions and while ensuring that they understand their contribution to the larger university strategy for success;
• Identify the origins of gaps in services, outcomes, and graduation rates through data-supported evidence, and seek out solutions with consideration of existing programs and other new initiatives which might be needed;
• Collaboratively examine areas of intersectionality that would affect climate or retention (race, gender identity, first generation, ability, veteran status, class, etc.);



Qualifications
Education and Experience

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Master's degree or higher plus seven to ten years of successful leadership in undergraduate education with a focus on diversity and inclusion. A Ph.D. is preferred with broad experience in diversity initiatives, multicultural affairs roles, or a related field. An excellent knowledge of and experience working with the issues facing marginalized populations is essential. Other preferred skills include data management, strategic planning, raising support, excellent communication skills across diverse and professional cultures, and an understanding of issues facing specific populations of students such as low SES, first generation, underrepresented STEM majors, LGBTQ+, women in non-traditional fields, non-traditional students, etc.
