Under limited direction, this position is responsible for managing the general accounting function of an assigned division or related entity. In addition, this position is responsible for the implementation of internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of the assigned division, or related entity’s financial records. This position provides guidance and support in all financial services related areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues.
Manages divisional accounting functions which could include accounts payable, receivable, collections, inventory control, and cost accounting.
Ensures the integrity of the divisional general ledger, annual budget, and re-forecasting.
Prepares and monitors financial management reports.
Responsible for review and accuracy of divisional financial reports and analysis of results. Interprets results for management.
Performs internal financial audits.
Liaison with external financial auditors.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the organization. Represents the organization through participation in national, regional, and/or local professional organizations.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor’s degree in related area required.
MBA preferred.
Licenses/ Certifications
CPA certification preferred.
Experience
Seven years of general and financial accounting experience required. To include:
Four years supervisory experience.
Skills/Abilities
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good supervisory skills with the ability to effectively utilize and develop personnel to execute job tasks.
Strong analytical and organization skills.
Efficient oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with all levels of staff and management.
