Injury Prevention Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente

Job Description:
Description: Develops, implements and monitors a comprehensive behavioral safety program that is designed to provide a workplace environment free of injuries. Coordinates facility activities to reduce the risk of human injury, potential liabilities and loss of company assets.

Essential Functions:
- Initiates, develops, revises, implements and promotes a comprehensive environmental health and safety program which includes advise local Executives on administrative policies for safety management.
- Establishes and implements a system for investigating and reporting all incidents that involve patients, staff and visitor injuries, occupational illnesses or property damage, analyzes data collected to identify trends, mitigates hazards and develops prevention strategies/programs.
- Acts as a resource to Executive Leaders on through the line to Unit/Department Based Teams, Administration, department managers and supervisors, physicians and staff on all matters related to injury prevention and workplace safety systems.
- Keeps abreast of diverse, complex and rapidly changing laws, regulations, codes, policies and standards applicable to workplace safety.
- Interprets and understands collected workplace safety data and provides counsel to Executive Leaders in identifying trends that allows mitigation of hazards and developing prevention strategies/programs.


Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year in technical area of expertise.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.


Additional Requirements:
- Computer skills in Excel & Word.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

- This position support the Workplace Safety program at the Los Angeles Medical Center.
