Accountant - Chapters
Looking for a new challenge or the next step in your accounting career? APWA is searching for an Accounting professional that plays an essential liaison role between our chapters and the national organization.
This position serves as the staff liaison to APWA chapters and branches (Chapters) to ensure compliance with financial and risk management policies and practices based on accounting and tax disclosures requirements applicable to APWA, as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Coordinates and trains Chapters on the Microsoft Dynamics accounting software package along with implementation for Chapters not currently on the system. Maintains the Chapter schedule of events to ensure appropriate insurance coverage is secured; completes assigned account reconciliations, journal entries and chapter budget review along with coordination of Chapter tax filing.
Bachelor’s degree in accountingor finance and a minimum of three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enjoys providing customer service to a volunteer member base, feel comfortable training new accounting software to volunteers, be detailed and deadline oriented, can prioritize, and strong organizational and computer skills using Office 2010 or higher. Experience with iMIS (association customer management) software, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and experience in an association setting preferred.
