Job Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The General Store Supervisor is responsible for managing, marketing, merchandising, selling and maintaining inventory of merchandise, food, drinks, beer and other liquor products. The Supervisor is to ensure at all times excellent customer service to all our guests and be a support to other departments as needed.



SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

Multi-tasking and training
Manage retail staff
Knowledge of cost of goods, labor cost and general store financial performance
Knowledge of Maestro
Knowledge of POS system (Quickbooks)
Work with other departments as assigned during slow periods
Knowledge of DV Gift Card System
Understanding of Deer Valley Resort
Knowledge of Park City and surrounding areas



JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Able to operate and teach all related POS systems relative to the general store operation
Handle, settle and reconcile payments transactions (cash, credit cards and gift cards)
Merchandise shelves with inventory for the best possible experience
Conduct monthly inventory of liquor
Monitor and order inventory and analyze sales reports to maximize sales
Maintain cleanliness of the store
Monitor and order supplies
Prepare lobby water service.
Reconcile at the end of day receipts and room charges in Maestro and Quickbooks
Drop the daily store sales with the reports
Order newspapers for guests requesting special papers

Give guest directions, information and instructions
Ensure opening and closing checklist for the day is completed
Check occupancy forecast and modify staffing as appropriate
Assist with any guest request
Demonstrate proactive guest, owner and employee problem resolution with urgency, respect and empathy towards all issues presented
Ensure staff professionalism through coaching, adherence to dress codes, maintaining uncluttered and well supplied workspaces, proper training materials and clear channels of communication
Work with the Front Office and Operations Manager to develop processes and procedures to ensure smooth operation and flow at the general store and front desk
