Under the general supervision of the Director of Imaging Services and the Manager of Imaging Services. The Ultrasound Technician provides health care services, using ultrasound to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Operates ultrasound equipment to provide and document accurate and quality sonographic studies of normal and abnormal anatomy. Performs ultrasound exams including Abdominal, OB, GYN, Small Parts, Prostates, and Vascular Scans. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Education and Experience:
Required: Satisfactory completion of a formal Allied Health Professional Training in an AMA approved school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. General and Vascular experience
Preferred: One to two years post graduate experience in the field of Ultrasound in an acute care setting. Advanced registries - i.e. vascular
Required: Credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), RVT; American Heart Association CPR certification
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
