Department OverviewWCRB Classical Station is Boston's only classical station, a division of the WGBH Radio, broadcasting classical music 24 hours a day on 99.5FM. The station plays a mix of great classical music day-parted to fit a busy lifestyle. WCRB Classical Services encompasses five over-the-air broadcast signals (beginning with 99.5 WCRB Lowell/Boston), the classicalwcrb.org website, Classical Performance podcasts, six online streams (including the Kids Classical Channel, the Bach Channel, and the Boston Early Music Channel), iTunes and iPad applications, and Boston Symphony Orchestra live broadcasts, and streams.Position OverviewWCRB is seeking announcers who are engaging radio hosts, are knowledgeable about classical music, and have flexible schedules. The primary responsibility of this position is on-air hosting for WCRB on an as needed basis. This is a great opportunity for a classical music fan with a passion for expanding the audience for classical music and a working knowledge and appreciation of radio.

Skills RequiredThe Radio Producer/Announcer must be an appealing on-air presenter of classical music with a friendly, conversational delivery. S/he should execute station-generated programming or make music selections in accordance with station policy. Must be able to learn and use broadcast software.
