Job Description:

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

Sodexo University Dining Segment is seeking a gifted and dynamic communicator to be the leader and face of Sodexo as the General Manager 4 for the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown located in scenic Johnstown, PA. UPJ is located on 655 picturesque acres in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, 70 miles east of Pittsburgh. This is the largest regional branch campus of the University of Pittsburgh. This tenured Sodexo account has $4MIL MV and serves 1,360 resident students, commuters and faculty and staff. Account offers Residential Dining, Retail and has a robust Catering and Conferences business.

Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager will have oversight for the entire contract/client relationship, management responsibilities for 6 salaried managers and an hourly mixed work force of union and non-union students, financial and budget responsibilities, as well as daily service operations. We are seeking a seasoned manager with the ability to meet and exceed customer expectations related to dining services and Sodexo programs and standards.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

College/University/Campus General Manager management experience;
Experience directing salaried managers and hourly staff;
Strong financial acumen - experience writing and managing budgets;
Experience with residential dining, retail, catering and conference business;
Experience with food sanitation/safety and HACCP programs;
Customer-driven and strong track record of organizational development;
Experienced with marketing and promoting food programs;
Ability to skillfully interact with client building strong relationships;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to manage in a union environment;
Strong focus on student engagement!
