TERM: For 6 months (MANDATORY), May/June 2018 through October/November 2018

HOURS: 9am-6pm (with a one hour lunch break), Monday - Friday



Hitachi America, Ltd. ( is looking for a candidate pursuing their Masters or doctoral degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering to join our Research & Development team as an Internship. The Research Intern will be involved in research for the U.S. Automotive Industry. The specific focus will be on projects related to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) research with electromagnetic simulation tool, circuit simulation tool and measurement skill in the field of automotive electrical powertrain system. Three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation and circuit modeling in addition to experimental validation of automotive components as well as the whole EMC testing systems will be involved in your activities. The intern will also periodically communicate with the supervisor to define the scope of the work, discuss the progress, and to document the research.

Currently pursuing Masters or doctoral degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required.

Knowledge and understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit theory is required.

Experience in using electromagnetic simulation software such as ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS Q3D, CST studio, FICO, etc. is required.

Experience using circuit modeling tools such as PSpice/LTspice, Agilent ADS, Cadence OrCAD, ANSYS Simplorer, etc. is required.

Programming experience in MATLAB, and/or C , Python is preferred.

Experience in working with some measurement tools such as Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, etc. is preferred.

Fundamental understanding of automotive inverter-motor drive system is preferred.

Ability to analyze and document the simulation and experimental results

Strong technical writing & communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment
