Location: Warsaw, Indiana
Responsible for production schedules and posting of daily work assignments based upon production needs and individual strengths. Must be shop floor orientated and provide “hands-on” product/process support for all reports on a daily basis. This individual should be the driver behind product/process safety, quality, delivery and morale
Must have previous Supervisory experience and demonstrate the ability to learn and develop a thorough understanding of the products, processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Previous Orthopedic Manufacturing experience preferred. Must be able to communicate appropriately, written and oral forms, with all levels of management. Must be able to give oral presentations in employee training situations and represent the company at external functions. Must also keep the respective Management of Operations informed of all significant developments concerning the operation. Must be able to train employees in the areas of GMP, EHS, and Quality Systems. Individual is responsible for day-to-day supervision of employees. Must maintain all time, attendance, and disciplinary action records for each direct report in a timely manner. Must have knowledge of methods and equipment; and be trained on equipment and processes in the area, or ability to develop this knowledge in a reasonable timeframe Adhere to all safety standards at all times. Must help drive continuous improvement thru areas of responsibility.
Demonstrated ability in coaching, counseling, motivating, training, recognizing and communicating objectives. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Basic understanding of quality systems. Good communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Analytical and problem solving abilities are required. Must have flexibility to re-prioritize tasks as needs change.
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering discipline or equivalent field is required. 3 to 5 years supervising direct labor in a manufacturing environment and maintaining positive employee relations. Experience in a related manufacturing process knowledge, including machining, polishing, and/or clean room packaging preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
