JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for employee and leadership capability by improving the performance and professional growth of leaders & employees through development and talent management activities (i.e. development plans, Career development cycel, Succession Planning, Job Evaluation, Etc.).

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for helping in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives around leadership and employee development, integration of the Caterpillar Employee Behaviors, managing DESD Mentoring program, and talent management strategies (Job Evaluation, Career Development and Succession Planning). Position should identify and help develop plans that allow strategic, tactical, and practical integration in these areas. Will also develop and provide leadership, counsel and education in areas such as: team/work group interactions & dynamics, career planning, general development/mandatory learning, new supervisor and new employee coaching and onboarding, high performance work environment and cultural change initiatives. In addition, where needed, also support basic 'core' HR activities and help to clarify, measure, and positively influence consistent behaviors needed to achieve desired business initiatives and results. This position will also help assist in the Employee Insights (EI) activities and associated action planning efforts. Oversee facility recognition efforts and programs. Help develop employee facility learning strategy and align it Division(s) learning initiatives. Partner with Global Process Owners, Division/Business Unit process owners, and shared services organization to ensure effective implementation of Enterprise required learning and learning associated with implementation of global processes. Measure effectiveness of development and learning activities. The incumbent works with Shared Services, Office of Business Practices, Global Workforce Talent, BU Talent Development and OE&E Role and other Global Process Owners to generate understanding and use of key tools and processes within Business Unit/Division(s).
The position's primary customers are internal. Typical internal customers include leadership (including Division Manager and Department Heads) and employees. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve organizational and leadership objectives. Moderate travel required (Less than 15% of working time).
