ANSYS recently released the technology preview of Discovery Live (www.ansys.com/discovery) a unique real-time easy-to-use simulation tool that we believe can make engineering simulation as pervasive as Excel. Some analysts have called it one of the biggest breakthroughs in design and engineering technology in the last ten years . This is certainly one of the most exciting technologies in the industry and a chance to work on the team that will transform how the products of tomorrow are engineered.
The Software Developer II is responsible for the development of user experience as it pertains to UI, data structures, and component infrastructure. The overall aim of the Software Developer II s responsibilities is to define and develop the next-generation preprocessor application for ANSYS and its customers, with the intent of leap-frogging the completion.
Design and develop tools that support engineering simulation technologies used in Discovery Live
Algorithm design for efficient pre- and post-processing tools
Create Innovative customer facing features
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
MS in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field
3+ years experience in software development
Demonstrated experience in object-oriented language (preferably C++)
Demonstrated experience in graphics programming
Demonstrated experience computational geometry and discrete differential geometry
Knowledge of standard software engineering practices for the full software development cycle (modern source control such as Git, build & packaging, unit/system/integration testing)
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
Strong understanding of software architecture (SOLID design principles)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Driven and willing to learn
Strong communication skills
PhD in engineering or computer science is a plus
Engineering simulation and related technologies
OpenGL/GLSL programming or similar
OpenCL/CUDA and graphics inter-operability
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident is preferred
