Job Description for Advertising Purposes
This Segment Finance Director role provides business support and financial analysis to the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Organization. This role supports the Worldwide CAD Segment, which involves interfacing with management and international functions, with responsibility for the following activities, further described hereunder: Budgeting, Financial Modelling, Long-Range Planning, Forecasting & Variance Analysis, Expense Control; Reporting; Ad Hoc Analysis.
The CAD Segment Finance Director will provide tactical and strategic support, with the objective to help maximize revenue growth and maximize profitability within PTC s policies, guidelines and best practices.
As a member of Business Finance organization, the position will report directly to the Corporate Vice President of Finance with dotted line relationship to the CAD Segment General Manager. The CAD Segment Finance Director plays a pro-active role supporting the General Manager and the Worldwide CAD Management team.
*Business Partnership: This individual Finance Director will work closely with the CAD Segment team, creating a real and active partnership. Their role is to provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making.
*Budgeting and Long-Range Planning: Participate in the yearly budgeting and strategic long-range planning processes, following the Corporate calendar and procedures.
*Financial Modelling: Partner with the CAD Leadership team to explore new product and market opportunities, modeling the financial impacts to PTC.
*Forecasting: Provide FP&A with accurate forecast each month; update Planning & Reporting Tool; liaise extensively with the field contacts
*Variances Analysis: For each fiscal month close process, analyze variances between actual and forecasted/budgeted numbers. Communicate with functional business managers and finance colleagues regarding significant variances from budget/forecast. Liaise extensively with FP&A and accounting teams.
*Expense Control: Identify and actively help functional management control expense levers as appropriate, e.g. headcount, POs, travel policies, accruals, etc.
*Reporting: Develop and communicate to functional management monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
*Ad Hoc Analysis: Assist and complete projects as necessary.
Skills and knowledge most relevant to the job:
*Experience in supporting Product, Segment or Business Unit organizations
*Well balanced personality, business support oriented person, perceived as a trusted and reliable advisor, capable to work autonomously
*Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with executives
*Global team player, with proven exposure to work and thrive in fast pace and dynamic work environment and in a heavy matrix environment
*5+ year working for a high-tech company (hardware/software) as a financial controller, Business Unit controller or a finance manager business partner, with a tracked record of successful partnering with business leaders
*Ideally was already exposed to business models, has developed a sound business plan, savvy at identifying/supporting/co-developing best practices to optimize performance
*Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Economics. Advanced Degree a plus.
*10+ years of professional work experience
*Advanced Microsoft Office skills high focus on Excel and preferred Business objects, Microsoft access skills and Microsoft excel advanced user
