Senior Quality Engineer

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide technical leadership in order to ensure that TA Aerospace maintains its compliance with all aspects of the relevant quality certifications and commitments to meeting Esterline corporate goals and obligations. In addition to maintaining and improving the existing Quality Management System, this role will use advanced methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma in order to help the organization propel its Continuous Improvement initiatives and support the Esterline Operating System (EOS). This role will proactively deploy all the necessary efforts to maximize customer satisfaction and company performance.

What you will do:

* Maintain compliance with all aspects of AS9100 and NADCAP certifications

* Follow all applicable Environmental and Safety policies and procedures

* Develop and drive a robust Supplier Quality Management program, to include key elements such as audits, supplier scorecards, surveys, etc.

* Ensure that the internal audit program is run effectively and audits are conducted on time and in a quality manner

* Run an effective CAR/PAR system and ensure timeliness of responses and closure of action items

* Apply Root Cause Analyses and other key problem solving tools pertinent to an aerospace manufacturing environment

* Assist in improving robustness of QC and QA operations

* Help gather data and prepare for periodic Management reviews

* Actively participate and support AS9100, NADCAP and customer audits

* Provide quality leadership and promote the use of best practices and instill a culture of Operational Excellence

* Lead reduction of non-conformances, scrap, rework and customer returns using basic and advanced methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma

* Promote Lean Manufacturing techniques and work with Kaizen groups on 5S and other Lean activities

* Support and promote Esterline Operating System (EOS)

* Lead and support Capital Expense projects

* Produce robust data analyses to root cause issues and turn data into information

* Assist with operator and inspector trainings as required

* Support and improve Material Review Board activities

* Other duties may be assigned based on business needs

What you bring:

* Must have a B.S. degree in a technical field

* 5 to 10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an aerospace manufacturing environment

* Knowledge of Rubber and/or Plastics manufacturing processes preferred

* Experience with NADCAP approval processes a plus

* Quality Engineer certification is preferred (ASQ or equivalent)

* Highly knowledgeable with Quality Standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001

* Strong auditor skills and capable of effectively interfacing with external auditors and customers

* Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certifications a plus

* Highly experienced with Supplier Quality Management

* Must be detail oriented and highly organized

* Proficient with MS Office applications: Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint

* Intermediate to advanced proficiency with statistical techniques and software

* Ability to interpret contractual and specification requirements

* Must be a strong advocate of Lean Enterprise.

* Self-motivated team leader with the ability to lead Kaizen events

* Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills

* Team player with ability to work well with employees and customers
