Location: Appleton, Wisconsin
The person in this position performs routine sample preparation and microscopic examination of fibers from paper and nonwovens, learning multiple methods and becoming qualified to train others.
Duties also include documentation, report writing, and quality review of results. Employee will be required to work both independently, as part of a team, and with customers.
The candidate cannot be color blind or subject to motion sickness, as the microscopic examination of wood and nonwoven fibers depends upon color determination with lengthy periods under the microscope. Education and Experience:
A relevant associates, BS degree, or equivalent experience in science, engineering, pulp and paper, or related scientific field is preferred.
3 to 5 years experience, preferably in fiber analysis/microscopy and/or related material development, manufacturing or testing. Some IT/Networking background desirable.
Basic Excel and Word skills are required
Possible local travel but otherwise, travel is negligible.

Body Senses: Must have command of senses of sight, hearing, and touch. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color determination, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
No foreign language required.
