Job Description:



Organized of members, as a representative of the line, who are dedicated to production preparation for Vehicle Change Overs/Launches.

Pilot Goal:

Make a process to Start up as smoothly as planned

Make vehicle/ equipment interface and process to ensure quality and vehicle manufacturability (Assembly friendly)

Create a better work environment

Pursue low cost/vehicle and efficient productivity

Pilot Engineering Technician Role:

1.Maintain good communication within different departments/stakeholders in terms of vehicle, assembly line, equipment and process

A.Easy to assemble vehicle (Good Posture, good process work balance)

B.Ability to build Quality in station

C.Cost efficient (Efficient work flow, low inventory, no over process, no wait time)


A.Understand and explain New Vehicle introduction scope

B.Create Work Instructions, Part lists, tooling list, manifest, etc.

C.Evaluate new parts and provide feedback to design

D.Set-up and execute to Training plan

E.Confirm process and quality of operators during builds

Pilot Representation:

A.You are a representative of your line, associate on the line is your customer

B.You are a representative of your department, (Not just your group, look at the big picture)

C.Be open minded, there is more than one solution

E.Able to understand and perform Supervisors instructions correctly

F.Ability to improve process

Pilot Job Overview:

*Introduction of new major programs/launches into assembly(RHD,EU-NCAP,DRIVER ASSIST,DM).

*Help validate all major facets of the launch(MES, Tooling, Manifest, torques, Racks, Labels, Jigs/Fixtures overall GA Readiness).

*Standardize and Streamline new process.

*Develop and Create new process based on program demands.

*Develop new project Assembly Work Instructions.

*Organize and schedule training for new program introductions.

*Work with Design Engineering and NPI team to implement running changes.

*Systems/program knowledge; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Web Ex, Enovia, Proplanner, MRT, MES and many other sub systems. Apply
