The Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in Economics. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Positions may range from 33% to 100%. A qualified applicant will have a Ph.D. in economics, and preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience at the college level. Priority will be given to candidates who are able to teach courses at all levels (principles, intermediate, and advanced) in a range of economics fields, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, finance, and theory.
Teaching appointments are temporary and variable, ranging from one to three courses per quarter, and from one quarter to one year in length, with the possibility of reappointment, based on department need.
