Job Description:

Position Description

  • Actively participate in the ongoing forecasting and budgeting process

  • Assist in preparing and uploading budget data to other data systems

  • Track and reconcile budget changes throughout the budgeting process

  • Work with field employees/management/corporate accounting/project managers to provide financial forecasts, analysis and support as needed

  • Analyze and complete variance analysis and explanations related to forecast changes monthly and/or as needed

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of management including corporate and field operations

  • Prepare/run data queries, financial analysis, and budget reports as requested

  • Troubleshoot and analyze data discrepancies and errors in budget data systems

  • Assist with review and reconciliation of accounts

  • Participate in testing systems and reporting functionality as assigned

  • Assist in preparation, review, and cost analysis of local contracts and proposals for service agreements

  • Perform administrative tasks which may include, but are not limited to: ordering supplies, A/P invoice processing, offsite drop off or pick up of special orders

Position Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business, Finance, Accounting or Related Degree

Experience / Specific Knowledge :

  • Three or more years of experience actively working in a fast paced project or professional accounting environment

  • Fundamental understanding of basic accounting and financial principles

  • General understanding of computerized accounting systems, budgets, and management reporting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheets and presentations

  • Well-developed analytical skills

  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work, and the ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and deadlines

  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s) and lead personnel, focus attention on details and follow work rules

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Budgeting, planning, and forecasting software

  • Advanced Excel Skills including pivot tables

  • Prior contracting experience

  • Share Point site management or strong experience

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Successful completion of background check, MVR and post offer drug screen

  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of job performance

  • Must maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company employees and property, and the general public

  • May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed as well as overtime hours

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)

  • Ability to attain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA

  • Must complete and pass any requirements by local, state, federal agencies and/or Kinder Morgan specific safety training as may be required at all Kinder Morgan locations
