We are proud to service Onondaga Community College and are now hiring for the position of Lead Sous Chef to assist with campus dining and catering services.
Position Overview for Lead Sous Chef:
It’s important that a sous chef be familiar with all the activities of the kitchen.
Know all styles of cooking done in the kitchen.
As assistant to the Chef, the Sous Chef will help with menu planning, inventory, and managing of supplies.
Aid in making sure the kitchen is up to safety standards, and that staff are obeying sanitation rules.
Able to make smart decisions instantly, be a strong leaser and able to communicate with the staff
The Sous Chef should not be afraid to offer suggestions or creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
- Associate's Degree in Culinary Science or related certification preferred
- 5+ years in a Sous Chef role
- Superior communication and leadership skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule
