The Relationship Manager/Trust Officer serves a key role in the servicing of our Wealth Management clients. They are responsible for all aspects of the servicing of a portfolio of client accounts, working with a Portfolio Manager for each relationship. Works to deepen relationships with existing clients and follow up on referrals from existing client base and Centers of Influence. Participate in Department activities and projects, as needed.


Client Service

Ensure that clients are receiving the highest possible level of service and that all of their financial needs are being identified and addressed. Schedule regular meetings with clients, following servicing standards of Wealth Management. Refer clients to other bank departments to provide them with banking services. Prepare reports for client meetings. Ensure that activities and relevant information are accounted for in CRM system.

Opening and Closing of Accounts

Process opening of new accounts through coordination of information between Private Banker and administrative staff. Ensure that documentation is reviewed and in good order. Oversee onboarding of new clients to ensure accuracy of communications, tax reports and statements, and account information. Accuracy and attention to details are crucial. Initiate the closing of accounts through the proper analysis of termination situation.

Distributions and Account Maintenance

Responsible for determining appropriate distributions from accounts including the exercising of discretion. Oversee proper coding of disbursements, deliveries, and receipts for assigned accounts and prepare related forms and documentation according to established procedures and policies.

Regulatory Requirements

Responsible for annual reviews of accounts including Relationship Reviews, Administrative Reviews and Principal and Income Reviews. Conduct other reviews as required. Participate as needed in regulatory reviews conducted by Federal, state, internal and external bank auditors.

Mentoring and Training

Serve as a resource to Administrative staff in their daily activities. Mentor assigned Administrator in their job development. Train new staff as needed. Serve as a role model to create consistency of quality and care and perpetuate a high service standard.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five to seven years in financial services with a significant portion in Wealth Management
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, including proper business letter and email writing
  • Outstanding client service skills and attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and decision-making experience with effective problem resolution
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with a CRM desirable
  • Ability to prioritize, juggle a variety of tasks and interact with staff at all levels
  • Positive attitude, team player, willingness to accept new assignments and to pitch in
