SR. PAYROLL SPECIALIST

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for activities related to the processing of payroll and SYNNEXs payroll system including the disbursement of payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments.

Audit documentation and assist with preparation of biweekly payrolls, including tax changes, deductions, retroactive adjustments, and time entry adjustments.
Work with department supervisors and manager to initiate solutions and drive efficiencies both within payroll and with business partners
Ensure compliance with all garnishment and support orders including Federal, State, and Local tax withholding
Prepares pay by verifying time records; calculating and producing ad-hoc checks or electronic transfers; calculating and producing incentive bonuses
Audit the payroll processing and the payroll results of other Payroll Specialist as requested
Ensure compliance with existing payroll policies and procedures
Help to establish policies that can improve the payroll processes
Continuously evaluate and suggest and/or implement improvements to payroll processes
Ability to resolve both routine and non-routine payroll problems
Assist in Year-End payroll activities and other projects
Communicates with a variety of internal (IT, HR, Benefits, Fin Ops and local sites) and as well as external parties (Federal, State, and local agencies, etc.) to ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions
Performs other tasks as needed to ensure an efficient and effective work environment within the department
Advanced Knowledge in Excel, and Workday Payroll Experience
