RESPONSIBILITIES

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a candidate for an entry level Mechanical Systems Engineer. You will apply mechanical engineering knowledge, practices, principles and techniques as a facility Mechanical System Engineer. You will have technical understanding of assigned facility mechanical systems, which may include, HVAC Systems, Process Systems, Laboratory Gas Systems, and Building Plumbing Systems. You will maintain documentation such as system design descriptions, technical drawings, and maintenance information etc. You will participate in new and remodel facility design reviews and may develop design criteria for new or remodeled facilities, processes and/or utilities systems. You will produce minor design deliverables including, construction drawings/sketches, technical reports, system evaluations and calculations. Mechanical System Engineer works with teams and independently on engineering tasks.

You should have experience in fluid and heat transfer systems, materials, mechanics, and design and analysis software. You should have an understanding of building mechanical systems, HVAC, Utility Piping, Laboratory Gas Systems, land Specialized Exhaust Systems. You will work with facility operations representatives, craft personnel and contractors to implement the approved designs. You will work under the guidance of a more experienced engineer. You may support ongoing system engineering activities, which would include technical support for assigned non-safety related Structures, Systems, and Components.

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
Applies and understands engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOE L-clearance
