Responsible for strategic direction and management of the engineering staff across various platforms, in various locations, with varying degrees of technology. Create, implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Responsible for Support system operations. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication in line with product deployment and support. Subject Matter Expertise in Video, Voice and Data applications. This includes Web portals, Web applications, back end systems, Set Top Box Software and client Applications.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Leads an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.
Actively and consistently supports different teams and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality software products to our customers through an effective and 24/7 multi location production support team.
Oversees the implementation of enterprise wide support strategy.
Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
Evaluates and consults with executive management regarding technical operations, strategic planning, software operations and new product deployment.
Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.
Reviews selections on bids for contracted projects, and provides recommendations as necessary.
Directs capital budget process, executes approved budget plan.
Ensures adherence to company TQA policies, operational playbooks, and internal and external service agreements.
Leads and participates in succession planning.
Performs other duties as requested by Manager.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Advanced Knowledge of Advanced Video, IP Networks and Telephony
Experience in Video, voice and data applications in cable industry
Self starter, self motivated, driven individual with attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Ability to lead a team through effective delegation, training
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Exceptional leadership skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Experience in managing teams of size 75+
Bachelor s degreein Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
