Job Description:

The Senior Investment Operations Associate in this role act as the back-up “quarterback” of a client account team, keeping a finger on the pulse of all client specific activities and taking accountability for client service deliverables.  As the point person for a client funding team, they ensure the team’s efforts and work product meet the client’s needs in a manner that enriches the client relationship.  They proactively anticipate the client team’s needs and communicate all issues related to the team’s resources, needs or service deliverables to the Manager and/or Department Head.  They ensure the client team and individual work product is timely and accurate and consistently fulfilling internal and external commitments and responsibilities. They must be able to learn/understand most of operations, the client’s needs, and how the service level we deliver to our clients impacts Prudential’s ability to retain clients.

 

Essential Functions:


  • Act as the client’s day-to-day Client contact for Corporate Owned Life Insurance clients (COLI), fielding questions and requests

  • Act as the internal lead and project manager deliverables; overseeing day-to-day service deliverables and client specific operations to ensure assigned clients receive the highest quality product

  • Manage and lead efforts related to client conversions and implementations, in conjunction with the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and Department Manager

  • Coordinates and leads communications with clients for services being performed by other internal departments (such as Plan Accounting or Analytical Services)

  • Will take lead in providing options to Client Relationship Managers and Relationship Managers regarding funding issues and asset allocation strategies

  • Ability to develop complex Excel rebalancing spreadsheets

  • Oversee management of team’s client specific task and project calendars

  • Lead or oversee team on client implementations and de-conversions and assist other teams as necessary

  • Interpret plan provisions to effectively manage team’s insurance plan and administration

 

Other Responsibilities:


  • Escalates client issues and communicate potential sales opportunities to CRM and Manager

  • Establishes client service expectations with client team members

  • Trains team members on plan features and client specific processes

  • Ensure ongoing client procedures are implemented and kept up to date

  • Assists with conducting regular client team meetings

  • Determine standard services to be provided to a client, in conjunction with the CRM and Manager

  • Oversee Service Calendar maintenance

  • Work with CRMs to ensure service agreement is current and escalate client request to the Manager and CRM for services requested that fall outside of the service agreement’s scope of services

  • Coordinate delivery and production of non-standard and ad-hoc requests, especially those that involve sophisticated, manual or atypical calculations

  • Work with clients and other team members to give clarity to the desired output

  • Develops calculation model & trains team members on procedure

  • Tests output and assumes responsibility for quality control

  • Oversees quality control for all client team projects and services deliverables

  • Facilitates cross communication within the client team

  • Ensuring all team members are kept “in the loop” on all client projects and servicing expectations/developments

  • Oversees insurance consent enrollment activity in conjunction with CRM

  • Reviews and monitors project timelines

  • Leads New Client/Plan Implementations, in conjunction with the CRM

  • Assist CRM with the development and monitoring of the project timeline

  • Assists as necessary with new insurance purchases

  • Oversees client’s COLI implementations, conversions, and day-to-day operations


  • Undergraduate degree in related field and/or relevant experience

  • 1-2 years related financial services and/or insurance industry experience

  • Knowledge of qualified or non-qualified benefit plan administration, life insurance, finance, accounting, financial modeling or other technically oriented benefits-related field is preferred

  • Poised, calm under pressure and an effective verbal and written communicator

  • Ability to train and mentor fellow associates

  • Basic financial acumen with strong math skills

  • Ability to anticipate needs and take effective action

  • Detail oriented, analytical self-starter with a motivation to expand knowledge, skills and responsibility

  • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Macros

  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects and take an active role in problem solving/decision making

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as a team member

  • Utilizes reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

  • FINRA 6 & 63 registration and stat Life Insurance within 120 days of hire

  • Must be able to travel to CA during training & transition period
