JOB SUMMARY
The Director, HR Communications will support the Vice President, HR Communications in developing and implementing the HR Communication strategy. This position is responsible for development and delivery of key communication projects from conception through implementation. Independently develops and executes comprehensive communication plans on a wide variety of HR initiatives, managing several projects simultaneously. By developing innovative communications solutions, helps mass or targeted audiences understand and appreciate the benefits and programs that Charter provides as a means to maintain employee engagement and retention, while enhancing employees perceptions of working at and having a career with Charter.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Under the direction of the Vice President, HR Communications, develop, implement and drive HR communications strategy including development of digital strategy and innovative methods to reach dispersed/frontline audience

* Lead implementation and ongoing management of online content strategy for both employees and HR, including development of new HR Engagement portal

* Develop and execute strategy to drive employee behavior change in areas such as health care consumerism and financial readiness

* Develop, edit, proofread and/or review various communication materials for style, understanding and consistency in messaging with other communications materials

* Under the direction of the Vice President, HR Communications, support HR leaders in preparing executive messages including messages for channels such as the Lead (for all employees) and the Line (for VP and above)

* Develop and manage effective communications measures and analytics to assess and improve performance as relates to any HR communication delivered via any medium, including the creation of a quarterly communication scorecard to be shared with senior leaders

* Effectively partner with key stakeholders both within and outside of HR, including Internal Communications, Government Affairs and Safety

* Oversee external vendors in support of HR communication activities

* Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President, Employee Communications to support HR communications programs, campaigns, and initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge

* Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, external and internal partners in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

* Expertise in employee communication principles and strategies, writing and editing

* Change management and social media experience/expertise a plus

* Team player with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization and build strong relationships within and outside the HR Communications team

* Demonstrated experience with HR content area(s) a plus

* Effectively manage vendor partners (specifically, graphic design and printing) to meet project deadlines and stay within project budgets

* Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

* Ability to analyze and interpret data

* Ability to attend to detail

* Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel

* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks

* Ability to maintain confidentiality

* Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

Education
Bachelor s degree in in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience
10 or more years in HR or Internal communications related position
