NTS is hiring an Information Systemes Security Analyst!!

Job Responsibilities:

This position will support a range of systems that include Windows Systems Administration, Unix/Linux Systems Administration, and networking. Downloads, installs, troubleshoots, tests, and distributes security patches and applications. Provides technical support for assigned software and hardware implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes. Develops job instructions, procedures, forms, drawings, and related material to support configuration management, planned changes, and operations. Keeps servers and workstations "Compliant" per Veterans Administration policies. Implements computer and network systems security controls, accomplishes technical security requirements and mitigations, supports systems test and configuration management process for changes. Will be required to have working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Security requirements. Other duties as assigned.

The position requires a motivated individual with the ability to successfully work independently without supervision, but also in the context of a collaborative team environment, and to perform as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specifically in the Windows and Linux client and server environment. Professional presentations skills, written communications and excellent computer skills required. Must be a self-starter, a disciplined worker and have a professional reputation for integrity. Must have a security certification per DoD Directive 8570.01M (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP). Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.


* In discussion with Sam Panicker, the customer said the GIAC cert would be fine in lieu of the CISSP cert.

* Environment 90% Windows / 10% Linux

* Strictly IS position focused on security, no networking involved

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master s degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
Security certification per DoD Directive 8570.01M (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+, or CISSP).
Experience with Server/Workstation Integration using Group Policy Administration.
Microsoft Windows, Red Hat LINUX, or CISCO networking knowledge and experience.

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Broad technical background in information systems.
Experience with patch management.
Proficient in MS Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
Demonstrated Analytical and Problem Solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Works well independently and in group settings.
Must be able to work flexible hours.

Desired skills
Experience with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB), or Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks.

Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs VA Handbook 6500.
Experience with Tenable Nessus or other vulnerability scanners.
Experience in Computer Security and Operations Security disciplines.

Experience with RiskVision or other GRC Tools.
AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, or Linux professional certifications.
Experience with Scripting (i.e. Microsoft PowerShell).
Knowledge of Trend Micro security products.

Solving technical computer problems, sometimes under tight security restraints.
Developing successful solutions to technical problems, occasionally with no known resolution.
