Location: Manhattan, Kansas

Job Description:

To apply recognized appraisal and mass appraisal methods and procedures to all designated parcels in Riley County. To gather pertinent real estate data to assist the County Appraiser in property valuation and may be directed to provide other valuation appraisal assistance as needed.


Education: Graduation from a standard high school or general educational development possession with some college and/or Vocational Technical education. Surveying and/or drafting course work. Substitution of three years’ experience in a related field may be considered from educational requirements.

Special Requirements:

License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license required. Successful completion of IAAO 101, IAAO 102, ORION Commercial/Industrial Data Collection, Commercial Grade & Depreciation Application, ORION Residential & Agricultural Data Collection, and Kansas Property Tax Law required within 24 months of hiring.


Two to five years office experience. Familiarity with local geographic area. Knowledge of engineering drawing techniques and ability to draw sketches. Knowledge and ability to implement interviewing techniques.

Miscellaneous Information:

Upon conditional offer of employment pre-employment drug testing and background check is required.
