Job Description:
Partners with customers and colleagues to translate strategic plans into the realization of significant business results through project execution and delivery using a comprehensive Performance Improvement Approach. Responsible for project scoping, execution, mentoring, coaching, and training individual contributors and managers in the systematic use and application of the Performance Improvement tools & techniques. Develops quality assurance performance and improvement indicators. Responsible for the identification of complex quality issues through analyzing data and preparing reports. Develops organizational and performance standards. Responsible for reporting as well as statistical analysis and recommendations.

Essential Functions
  • Manages the coordination, execution, and delivery of large scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Identifies and evaluates significant Performance Improvement opportunities.
  • Reviews project requests and assesses fit with department resources, skills, strategic fit and value to company.
  • Leads project staff in meeting deliverables.
  • Integrates varied stakeholders' interest in pursuit of a combined goal.
  • Serves as an internal expert on performance improvement tools and techniques.
  • Forges relationships with senior level client sponsors to facilitate program success.
  • Makes formal presentations to various audiences with persuasive results.
  • Establishes partnerships with other departments to enhance their capabilities.
  • Partners with local labor union leaders to facilitate Unit Based Team's overall success.
  • Leverage relationships in PI Community (internal and external to KP) to promote, advance, and incorporate best practices.
  • Identifies industry trends, conducts research to understand key issues, and applies to Kaiser Permanente.
  • Advises and supports all levels of management for project teams from both the Health Plan and CPMG regarding change management skills needed to successfully deliver project results.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching, and training to individual contributors and managers in the systematic use and application of the Performance Improvement tools & techniques.
  • Coordinates and leverages work with variety of departments within KP.

    Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in leading complex performance improvement projects, including a demonstrated proficiency in facilitation, change management, and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification or equivalent required within one (1)year of hire.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization, Demonstrated experience making presentations to small and large groups.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to assess complex situations and data, and reduce it to important and actionable tactics.
  • Empowers, motivates and challenges staff; actively works with staff to develop and enhance individual talents.
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills required. Politically astute.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience involving organizational culture change highly preferred.
  • Experience with formal project management preferred.
  • Master's degree in business administration, health care administration, quality management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Kaiser Improvement training certification strongly preferred.
