This newly created position will be responsible for the clinical oversight of strategic operational improvement initiatives w/in the Procurement (PS) Supply Chain Transformation Initiative (SCTI) Network Rollout of the End-to-End (E2E) Supply Chain Management Project at Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers. These responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); facility process evaluations & assessments, physician/clinician engagement in aligning core business processes, initial clean-up & ongoing maintenance of Operating Room (OR) Procedure Cards in HealthConnect, approval & implementation of newly revised PAR min/max OR inventory levels & responsibility for driving newly implemented Point of Use (POU) system technology usage compliance by clinical staff.
Essential Functions: E2E Network Rollout Project Management Office (PMO) Participation & Leadership: Provides leadership to highly visible, sensitive & multi-faceted project. Manages clinical focus of all 4 phases of project implementation at the assigned Medical Centers. Responsible for clinical buy-in & support of gold standard processes implemented. Establishes clinical team membership & negotiates time commitments & resource allocation. Provides clinical leadership & expertise to multi-disciplinary teams. Motivates team members. Acts as liaison, problem solver, & facilitator. Cultivates & reinforces appropriate group values, norms, & behaviors. Provides guidance to team on performance & productivity issues. Actively participates in analyzing data & developing recommendations & action plans. Participates in formal presentations to various senior level audiences. Establishes procedures regarding implementation of project outcome. Assesses project impact on clinical workforce. May include developing training program for different levels of audiences. Establishes effective professional business relationships w/ all levels of management. Instructs & educates on all clinical aspects of project. Provides weekly updates to Program Manager & follows established escalation procedures.
E2E Network Rollout 'Due Diligence' Phase (Process Evaluations, Assessments & Alignment): Active participation in cross-functional kick-off meetings & leadership reviews. Key participant in the facilitation & execution of 'Due Diligence' toolkits (i.e. inventory clean-up, process evaluations, resource/staff requirements, technology, change management, etc.). Owner of physician/clinician engagement in aligning core business processes. Assist in execution of roles & process changes as it pertains to the clinical staff & their on-going engagement w/ supply chain / materials management. Support in LPC Assessment & pilots of new structure (ensure clinical membership, attendance & participation is appropriately represented).
Inventory (PAR Min/Max) Optimization & Implementation: Achieve inventory reduction targets through the use of supply chain tools/methodologies (consignment, cross-site inventory transfers, etc.). Implement improved inventory re-order points through utilization of Par Optimization tools. Oversee the inventory optimization process from a clinical staff engagement standpoint, to gain the approval & implementation of the PAR Min/Max results (i.e. participate in conducting of physical inventory of OR, stock-out audit process, clinical approval of new Min/Max results, readying PAR Min/Max results to be loaded into systems, bin location assessments & loading of bin locations in HealthConnect, etc.).

Minimum three (3) years of related clinical experience in one (1) or more of the following clinical focus areas; hospital operations, case management, perioperative, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology or other clinical services.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California required.
Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Professional experience with health care cost, reduction planning and process improvement implementation preferred.
Operating Room (OR) experience preferred.
Materials Management experience preferred.
Supply Chain, Logistics, Project Management, Procurement, Purchasing, and Forecasting & Planning experience a plus.
Nursing/hospital administration experience a plus.
BSN or bachelor's in health related field preferred.
MSN, MHA or APN a plus.
Professional competence in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Visio preferred.
