The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the Maintenance team to work injury-free/incident free in a batch manufacturing environment consistent with MBM® management philosophy and framework. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure that the department is meeting the objectives that drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production and costs, as well as planning, directing and guiding the business goals, plans, and processes for the maintenance department.
A day in the life of a Maintenance Supervisor typically includes:
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and support preventative and predictive maintenance programs, provide technical support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies. Establish metrics, goals, and benchmarks that drive excellence through promoting continuous process improvement, employee involvement, ownership, and accountability while aligning and optimizing the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business. Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership and holding employees accountable.
Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved; monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency; assist with troubleshooting production issues; provide safety training to crew members; coaching; team development/performance management; data entry and completing/generating reports.
What You Will Need:
A High School Diploma or equivalent
A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience - OR - four (4) or more years of Manufacturing, Industrial or Military experience, including an equivalence of 2 more years of leadership responsibility.
Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote and enforce safe work practices
Must have an effective working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to learn various PC-based production and maintenance reporting applications
Experience in leading improvement efforts in Reliability, Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, and Precision Maintenance
Experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other similar problem solving tools.
Able to read mechanical, structural and electrical drawings
- Effective oral and written communications skills that support collaborative teamwork, and the ability to influence others
Basic accounting and financial knowledge
Proven analytical and field troubleshooting skills
Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in dusty, noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
What Will Put You Ahead?
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, industrial management or a similar discipline
Certification as a Maintenance Reliability Professional
Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities
Experience with manufacturing methods and continuous improvement processes
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Manufacturing System (CMMS)
Knowledge of maintenance best practices and approaches utilized in a manufacturing environment,
- Proven ability to build and align a team around a shared vision
The selected applicant will be trained in the GP work processes and will need to gain a thorough understanding of the MP2 maintenance management system.
