3D Systems partners with surgeons, healthcare professionals, medical device manufacturers, and medical teaching staff to offer a range of precision healthcare solutions, including virtual reality simulators, 3D printed anatomical models, virtual surgical planning, patient-specific surgical guides, instrumentation and implants.

We are currently seeking temporary full time entry level Biomedical Engineer / Biomedical Designer in the Virtual Surgical Planning department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing planning files for virtual surgical planning meetings. This will include viewing medical imaging modalities, simulating surgical procedures and preparing cephalometric analysis. Candidates will also be responsible for the coordination and organization of products in preparation for the final inspection process. This will include buffing, cleaning and modifying of surgical splints, initial inspection of 3D printed patient specific medical devices and collection and organization of data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • View patient CT and MRI studies in DICOM format and identify anatomies of interest

  • Use CAD software to manipulate 3D files and combine multiple datasets for surgical planning

  • Manage multiple priorities and communicate closely with a multidisciplinary team

  • Maintain detailed records of each case in accordance with the company's Quality Management System

  • Perform initial inspection of 3D printed surgical splints for voids, flaws, or other inaccuracies

  • Use hand tools to buff, clean, or modify the surgical splints as needed.

  • Gather materials, paperwork, and parts for the final inspection process

  • Organize the initiation of 3D printing builds and the finalization of parts to ensure on time shipment of parts


  • BS or Associated (complete or in progress) in Engineering or Graphic Design with strong background in CAD and 3D applications Experience:

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience


  • Strong attention to detailed

  • Good organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work extended hours when needed
