The Consumer Insights Analyst will support marketing research efforts for Consumer Research and manage, in conjunction with the Consumer Insights Manager, efforts to support Shopper Research for Nespresso US. This includes framing business problems, designing research programs, working with vendors to manage research logistics, review and provide feedback on questionnaires and screeners, and provide guidance on making research outputs maximally relevant for the marketing and trade teams.

Responsibilities:

Custom Research Framing & Design:

•Work with insights and cross-functional teams to identify gaps, frame key business issues and define project scope

•Assist in the development, management and execution of research plans

•Manage all aspects of the project timeline to a timely and on budget completion

•Effectively communicate the consumer’s point of view and advocate on their behalf to core research stakeholders in the form of written and visual summaries (i.e. PowerPoint presentations)

Shopper Insights:

•Manage insights needs with the trade team to provide a deeper understanding of retailers and shoppers for capsules and machines.

•With supervision from the Consumer Insights Manager, develop, manage and execute shopper insights research plans

•Manage all aspects of the project timeline to a timely and on budget completion

•Effectively communicate the shopper’s point of view and advocate on their behalf to core research stakeholders in the form of written and visual summaries (i.e. PowerPoint presentations)

Connect-the-Dots:

•Build a solid knowledge base on the consumer, competitive landscape and changing dynamics influencing consumer behavior

•Stay current on industry research best practices

•Leverage all types of data sources to develop and share multisource insight synthesis

•Act as a storyteller, synthesizing results in a clear and engaging way to provide holistic business recommendations

Vendor Management:

•Support with day-to-day vendor management logistics, timelines, and budgets.

•Work with agency partners to ensure best practices and full range of insight generating tools

•Contribute to feedback on/evaluation of external research agencies

•Manage RFP process with vendors/agencies

Education:

• BA / BS degree required, preferably in Business/Marketing, Statistics

Experience:

• Detailed knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications including strong PowerPoint and Excel skills

•3+ years working in research/consumer insights capacity required; Supplier experience a plus

•Hands-on experience across an array of custom quantitative and qualitative research methodologies preferred

•Working knowledge of syndicated research sources (Nielsen, IRI, Mintel, Simmons, etc.) required
