The Respiratory Therapist will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering care to patients in a variety of settings, such as, but not limited to, the ICU, PCU, Floor, ER Trauma, Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Pulmonary Function and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. As part of a team, the Respiratory Therapist will collaborate and communicate with coworkers and members of the patient healthcare team and provide assessment, treatment and monitoring of cardiopulmonary disease across the continuum of care. The Respiratory Therapist will quickly and accurately assess a patient's condition and communicate effectively to the care team concerning about changes in the patient's condition, results of diagnostic studies, symptoms and response to treatment.
Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare related field is preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills required. Function with initiative and independent judgment. Desire for continuous quality improvement. Basic computer literacy required.
License or certification
All respiratory therapists will hold the National Board for Respiratory Care entry level certification (CRT) prior to their first day of Mayo employment. All graduate respiratory therapists must possess valid permission (permanent or temporary permi
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $25.57 per hour.
Hours / Pay period
12 hour shifts, three days per week, rotating day/night, will work three holidays per year
12 hour shift, every third weekend
