Position Summary:

The Associate Manager, Ventures Marketing serves as the direct contact and strategic advisor on all marketing and brand strategy matters for Constellation Brands Ventures (CBV) portfolio companies. This role is responsible for assisting CBV portfolio companies with brand architecture development, pricing strategy, promotions and advertising strategy, and new production development, among other key marketing initiatives. CBV is seeking a business leader with an established record of brand building performance to aid CBV portfolio companies in formulating and delivering on business goals, marketing execution standards, and brand building initiatives. Regular interactions with portfolio companies, including travel to portfolio company offices and facilities, is expected.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Planning & Process, Business Strategy


  • Develop and implement an annual strategic marketing planning process, replicable across all brand-centric CBV portfolio companies, that serves to differentiate CBV brands, build consumer awareness and engagement, and garner retail support

  • Consult and advise CBV portfolio companies on brand architecture development, pricing strategy, promotions and advertising strategy, market activation, new product development, and other critical brand strategies

  • Serve as acting liaison between CBV portfolio companies and internal CBI Marketing departments to aid in business planning and execution

  • Enable synergies between CBV portfolio companies and CBI portfolio brands when/where appropriate

Collaboration with CBV Sales Director to Drive Execution


  • Work closely with the CBV sales director to ensure alignment of strategic marketing initiatives and sales objectives

  • Maintain continuous feedback loop with the CBV sales director, as well as CBV portfolio company sales and marketing staff, to optimize execution plans and read the ongoing ‘sales pulse’ on brands performance and traction

Reporting & Analysis


  • Work with CBV portfolio companies to manage marketing budgets and ensure programs meet agreed to spending parameters

  • Assess program effectiveness and viability via formal program evaluation to inform tactical and strategic adjustments to marketing strategy

  • Deliver annual marketing plans and budgets to the Ventures Portfolio Manager (VPM) and Ventures Steering Committee (VSC)

  • Deliver periodic portfolio updates on the commercial performance of CBV portfolio companies to the VPM and VSC

  • Collaborate with appropriate CBI functions (Marketing, Strategic Insights etc.) to analyze and communicate competitive market changes and trends to the VPM and VSC

Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in brand marketing

  • Deep understanding of how to build a brand in the marketplace

  • Demonstrated success working cross functionally, and managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to analyze data to identify opportunities and develop business plans

  • Proficient in MS Office, and experience with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)

  • Ability to travel domestically, an average of 25%
