The Legal Department is a team of trusted advisors, partnering globally to enable business growth and agility, while safeguarding Dun & Bradstreet’s brand and assets.  Dun & Bradstreet’s Legal Department is comprised of 10 distinct functions that work together to achieve their collective goals and objectives. Mergers & Acquisitions; Privacy; Reporting; Corporate Governance; Commercial; Intellectual Property; Privacy/Compliance; Dispute Resolution; Third Party Compliance.

The Role:  

 Do you want to be part of an exciting, growing and cutting-edge privacy program at a leading global data company?

We are looking for an attorney to become a member of our Privacy and Compliance team, who will passionately advocate for and assist in the development, implementation, maintenance, and adherence to our global, robust, mature and modern privacy and compliance program at Dun & Bradstreet.

Key Responsibilities:  


  • Plan, design, develop, implement, maintain, and ensure adherence to a comprehensive global privacy program.

  • Work, as part of the Privacy team with day-to-day privacy and data protection matters in North America (Canada and the US).

    • The attorney will also work on global privacy matters and initiatives as necessary.

    • Day-to-day responsibilities in North America that include: contract review; Privacy Impact Assessment reviews; Third-Party privacy reviews, assisting with our Privacy Shield certification; assisting with updating our privacy notices and policies as necessary; providing support on compliance with data protection and governance laws and regulations; supporting our security team on data security issues; and working with many internal corporate teams on data protection compliance matters.



  • Coordinating, planning and executing Privacy Day activities globally.

  • Support Global Compliance and Legal Risk:  Provide strategic and tactical support for all compliance related programs and initiatives including: anti-corruption, export controls, fraud and anti-money laundering; compliance investigations; record management; and preparation and presentation of training programs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:  


  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law required.

  • 3-5 years of legal, and 1-2 years of privacy and compliance-related, experience, preferably with in-house experience and experience for a multi-national public company.

  • Knowledge and subject matter command of U.S. state, federal and international privacy laws, regulations and industry standards.

  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations such as PIPEDA and GDPR.

  • Able to engage business colleagues and leaders at all levels, and work with cross-organizational stakeholders and decision makers with different geographical and operational responsibilities to achieve effective and desired outcomes.

  • Proven track record of creative problem solving, building consensus, forging coalitions and leveraging professional relationships to achieve strategic objectives and to create an effective “culture of compliance.”

  • Able to foster effective discussions with business leaders to define needs and to quickly become a valued advisor.

  • Able to assist in the design of plans and programs to support organization and promote our Privacy-By-Design program objectives.

  • Some travel required domestically and internationally.
